The kitties on this page are in urgent need of help. They are in shelters that
do not have no-kill policies, or their owners can no longer care for them. We
need to find foster homes or adoptive families for these sweet kitties
immediately or they may be put down. If you are interested in adopting a Maine
Coon mix, please consider one of these kitties.
MCA doesn't have enough foster space to rescue all of the kitties who need our
help. If you can provide foster care for these kitties, even on a temporary
basis, please e-mail
elaineln@pacbell.net
.
Click the pictures to see each kittie's adoption flyer.

I need a new home urgently – I am living in a garage and am quite unhappy! My name is Isabel and, in case you were unaware, there have been a great number of queens throughout history with similar names. I am somewhat of a regal gal myself. For one, I have unique and beautiful gray-and-peach fur. And, while I am an affectionate girl, there are certain subjects that I am not so fond of. Those certain subjects would be small children and other pets. I might be okay with just one other cat, but in general I just don't care for them. But around everyone else, I'm an absolute doll. I enjoy being close and sitting on laps and being brushed and stroked. I'm a good conversationalist and am quite curious and playful. I especially love cat toys and bugs (which I will help eradicate for you!). I'm 6˝ years old and weigh about 7˝ pounds. I have been spayed, microchipped and am up to date on all my shots. I'm in Oakland.

My name is Gigi, which may conjure memories of beautiful Leslie Caron dancing
her little heart away in the "Gigi" movie. I am very beautiful but I haven't
been dancing much since my beloved owner died. Her family can't keep me so I
lived a long 9 months in an empty condo by myself. Now I've been dumped at a
shelter and I'm terrified! Not only is it a bad time to be at a shelter – it's
kitten time when adult cats, even YOUNG 3-yr-old kitties like me don't do
particularly well – I'm so confused and frightened by these changes that I'm
swiping at the staff. They want to put me down! Oh please, is there anyone
out there to be a friend for an abandoned and lonely kitty? I'm a beautiful
torti with some white accents and have so much love to give. I promise to
bring all sorts of love and beauty (check me out — I'm GORGEOUS) to your life
and am sure to start dancing my little heart away just like the girl in the
movie. I have been spayed and declawed and am very healthy.

Shakespeare's 'Romeo & Juliet' had a tragic ending, and our story almost did,
too. We're a brother and sister
who were almost put to sleep because our owner was going out of town for three
months!
The vet rescued us, but now we're stuck in kennels, sad and lost as to what
happened.
We are gentle and sweet, who would want to abandon us?
The pictures don't show us off well, but we have lovely eyes, short hair — a
perfect matched pair.
We miss having a home! We're thirteen years old, but are healthy and still
have multiple good years left in us.
We've been spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested negative and are up to date on
all our shots.
We are living in a vet's office in Napa and transportation can be arranged!
Our previous owner will pay our vet bills for life.
Will you step in and change our tragic story to a happily-ever-after?

My name is Diamond. Right now, I'm kind of a diamond in the rough because I've
found myself in a high-kill shelter. But, after nursing me back to my polished
brilliance, the staff has learned that I'm as outgoing and friendly as they
come. I love all people and reach out to everyone that walks by my kennel,
hoping they will pick me. My loving and engaging personality really makes me
the ideal cat for almost any kind of family and home. I have been spayed,
microchipped and tested negative so I'm ready! Please reference number A077100
when you call and ask about me. I’m in a Fremont area shelter.
