Tommy: Living the Good Life
 |
|
Hard to believe I have had him two years (October 2004). He and I are a
perfect match. He is so very happy and is a perfect indoor cat. He
loves toys and particularly large ones. Loves to carry them from the
living room down the hall into my bedroom during the wee hours and it
is so amusing to wake up and find various ones around, some even dipped
into his water bowl. He has a large satin "log" with a bell on it and I
have actually been privileged to see him coming down the hall with it
in his mouth (vertical) heading into the living room. He has to almost
walk bow-legged to travel with it. Of course, he chirps loudly so I
will know that he is bringing me this gift. Just an adorable boy.
We also have a lot of "couch time." He loves to "fall" against me and
stretch his legs out in my lap. Also have a morning brushing ritual
before I go off to work. He waits for me to make the bed, then leaps on
the bed and looks at me and the brush with great anticipation on his
face. Just loves to be groomed. A very handsome boy, indeed. Beautiful,
healthy, long glossy fur.
He is also very fond of my dear friend and neighbor Susan Conradi. She
picked him up at the San Luis Obispo airport when he flew in two years
ago. Poor little fellow was so frightened, but those days are a distant
memory. What a lucky boy he is! He looks forward to her visits in the
evenings and she absolutely adores him. He likes her to pick him up and
put him up on her shoulder and also lays in her arms when she walks
around with him. Susan also trims the fur on his behind which he
appreciates. He seems to have a bit of Persian in him we believe (gray
tufts between all his toes and what appears to be a Persian behind ...
lots of fur).
Bottom line is that we couldn't be a happier pair. He is very hard to
photograph as he is so dark (black fur, black whiskers, black nose and
mouth), If his eyes are closed, it is hard to find his face. Quite a
stunning fellow! And
such a gentle soul.
Thanks again for arranging for me to adopt him. I can't express how
much I love him and how much he loves being with me.
Happy holidays!
Barbara Gratwick and "that marvelous and amusing Tommy!"
