Ruby
In March 2007 I walked into Petsmart for cat food. I walked past the adoption display cage where I first met Ruby. Ruby had her paws on the Plexiglass window and meowed at me to get her out of there. I asked a Maine Coon Adoption person to see Ruby. She immediately jumped on my lap and kissed me with her nose. At that point she adopted me and I had no choice but to take her home. Ruby was beautiful, opinionated and expressive. She was an endless source of entertainment and a she was a true love sponge. She enjoyed lying on her back and sunning her tummy. She loved to hang around Jennifer and I wherever we went. She had her unique ways of communicating her needs to us and over the years she trained us well. In October 2011 Ruby was diagnosed with Lymphoma. She battled bravely as long as she could but in December the chemotherapy stopped working. I held her in my arms on December 2nd when Dr. Finemann put her to sleep. She was not yet 10 years old when she died. During her time with us she was loved and she will always be alive in our hearts. We miss her.
