Gracie Marie

I wanted to write a thank you, a deeply felt thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving the life of Gracie Marie Smith, my little kitty.  Because Maine Coon Adoptions saved Grace, took her photo and posted it online, I found my little girl.

For the last four years Gracie has owned my heart.  On April 8th I had to take her to her last appointment at the vet's.  She had contracted kidney disease, had battled it her whole life, and then cancer.  It was the hardest call, an emotional shock, and yet I knew I didn't want her to suffer another day.  So it was clear.

Two weeks later I am finding photo after photo I took of my little girl, and still crying because I miss her so much.  But if I look past my loss, my selfishness, I have to look at all the days in a row Gracie and I had together.  It was my thrill to be with her, she was always so charming and gracious toward my love for her.

I went through two serious surgeries in the last few years.    Gracie was my nurse, my best friend and my confidant.  She knew to crawl up on my lap when I was hurting, emotionally or physically, she was always there.  Thank you Elaine for keeping her for me, for letting me have such a wonderful pet as Gracie Marie.
She will live forever in my heart.
